by Lynn Johnston, Katherine Hadway
For more than thirty years, Lynn Johnston captured the hearts of readers around the globe with her Pulitzer Prize-nominated comic strip For Better or For Worse.
Chronicling the lives of the middle-class suburbanite Patterson family — Elly and John and their children, Michael, Elizabeth, and April — For Better or For Worse was both goofy and ground-breaking. It adhered to narrative and emotional realism, the experiences of the Patterson family mirroring those of their readers, the characters aging in real time with the audience.
For Better or For Worse: The Comic Art of Lynn Johnston takes you behind the scenes of one of world’s favourite comic strips. Explore Lynn Johnston’s influences and early drawings and the surprising, real-life inspirations behind her beloved characters and storylines. Along the way, revisit some of the most memorable moments in the For Better or For Worse universe.
The book will be published to coincide with an international touring exhibition of Lynn Johnston’s work, organized by the Art Gallery of Sudbury.
Whether readers are new to Johnston’s work or old fans returning to it once again, they’ll find this book to be a rich treasury of For Better or For Worse.

Middle-school comedian, homework dodger, rock-star wannabe, master doodler—To…more
Middle-school comedian, homework dodger, rock-star wannabe, master doodler—Tom Gates is back with two more episodes full of visual humor and kid appeal.
Things are looking up for Tom Gates. The school dance is coming up, and his birthday, too! What could possibly put him in a bad mood? Well, the words math lesson, for one thing. And that annoying twit Marcus Meldrew at school. And Granny Mavis threatening to bake Tom’s birthday cake (carrots!). And the fact that nobody seems to be noticing the long list of birthday presents Tom has prominently displayed. Worst of all, can it be true that Tom’s dad has volunteered to deejay the school dance wearing the wacky costume from his new job? [close]

7" Kara is a suburban fantasy comic aimed at young girls. Inspired by books such as "The Borrowers", "The Littles", and "Gulliver's Travels", 7" Kara follows the adventures of the 11 year old Lilliputian Kara. Kara lives with her parents in an old doll house that's been hidden away in the back of a neglected shed. Isolated her entire life, she has few Lilliputian friends her own age, and even less experience with the outside world. Everything she knows has been learned first hand or has been taught to her by her parents. Her life changes drastically when a human family moves into the house her family lives near. Will Kara make a new friend? Or is there something darker, possibly more dangerous in store for her?
7" Kara is an ongoing watercolor children's comic written and illustrated by Becca Hillburn. Collected in this first volume are the first four chapters of the main comic, a bonus story featuring Kara, and a selection of concept art. Full color, 112 pages of content, 71 pages of comic.
