The design, research and layout of "Following Jesus: In 181 Scenes" is for 21st century people who, raised with 24 hour news broadcasts have been schooled from infancy in straight orderly facts concerning the when, where, what and who of reported events.
"Following Jesus: In 181 Scenes" takes the actual parallel writings of the Four Gospel writers (KJV), puts them in chronological and geographical order with a short explanation in the vernacular of what's happening. No more flipping through your Bible to see who reported on an event and who didn't. It's all there before you with even the styles and "voices" of the Gospel writers easily compared.
Because the events from fall of 27 to summer of 29 didn't occur at the beginning of Jesus' Incarnate life (Christmas story) or at the end (Easter story) they are often "lost" or "misplaced" somewhere in this event-filled Early Middle period. This timeline book brings these Early Middle days of Christ's ministry, those before the major turning point when Jesus no longer proclaimed only that He is the Christ but openly proclaimed His Messianic mission, into clear focus. (Jesus' Late Middle ministry - from the Transfiguration to the eve of Passion Week - is the subject of another book)
The goal of "Following Jesus: In 181 Scenes" is to make reading this part of the Bible easy, enjoyable and eye-opening for time-strapped 21st century readers; both students of the Bible and those who might never before have read it.
